Guess what's the big news !Finally IOS 7.0.x jailbreak is out and is stable too.

The evasi0n team has finally done it. As promised they have come up with a stable jailbreak for ios 7 through ios 7.0.4. I just jailbroke my iPhone 4S and got the much awaited cydia.

So i wanted to share pros and cons of the jailbreak.
Pros:
1. UI perfectly blends with the typical IOS 7 look and feel.2. Many apps like iFile, SBSettings etc, are still supported.3. Most of old repos are allowed in the new version.4. New themes customized for IOS 7.
Cons:
1. Apps like Bridge, ProTube are not supported yet.2. Many apps install but crash while opening.3. Re-Spring takes more time than before.
Still, its worth giving a try.

Install IOS 7 beta without developer account

Many of you might be very excited to use the new IOS 7 on your iPhone. Now IOS 7b can only be installed with a developer account. Since the developer account is for $ 99, so many of us will restrain from it.

But hola ! there is a solution to install it without developer account.

Follow the steps below to install it:

1.       Back up your device on iTunes:

 

2.       Download the latest IOS 7 beta from here :

3.       Now there are two approaches from w.r.t. whether your device is jailbroken or not

a.       Not Jailbroken

Connect your phone to iTunes. Click “Shift+Update”

It will open a browser window. Now browse to your .ipsw file and start the update process. It will take 15-20 min for update.

b.      Jailbroken

For jailbroken phones you first need to restore your phone to IOS 6.1.3 (iPhone 4S).  Download the IOS 6.1.3 from here as per your phone model:

Now this time click “shift+restore” :

Once the phone is restored, follow step 3(a) to update it to IOS 7.

4.       Now you can restore from backup by clicking on the the “Restore Backup” button in iTunes. This will restore all your date i.e. contacts , messages , mails as well as application data(except jailbroken data) :

5.       If all the steps are carefully followed. You will be a proud owner of an iPhone with new IOS 7 J

How to Fix iTunes Error 3194 While Restoring or Updating IOS

Many a times while updating or restoring an ios on iPhone , we come across the following error :

People have tried a number of ways to solve this problem, solutions sometimes works while other times they do not. A major issue which may trigger this error is that the iPhone you are trying to restore is a jailbroken one. Jailbroken iPhones have tendency to show errors during restore. Also if you have a jailbroken iPhone, do not try to update it from iTunes or from iPhone itself because it may lead to bricking of the phone.

Here I will explain this error with context to iPhone 4S:

1.       First step is to update iTunes to the latest version available.

2.       Open your browser and type the following link : http://gs.apple.com/

Now if you see the following page :

Then your configuration is fine. But if a cydia page comes, then we have a solution to the problem.

3.       Migrate to the following folder in your system:

C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc    (here C drive has the Operating system)

4.       Now copy the file “hosts” to the desktop and open it in notepad.

Remove the highlighted line from the file. Save it and paste it to this directory:

C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc. It will give an “overwrite warning”. You should be an administrator on the system to overwrite the file.

5.       Restart the PC and the error should be gone by now J

In case you do not have 74.208.105.171 gs.apple.com in the “hosts” file, then there may be two reasons as to why you are getting “3194” error:

a.       You are using a proxy server which is not allowing iTunes to connect to apple servers. So you must allow iTunes through proxy firewall. More details : https://discussions.apple.com/message/20226923#20226923

b.      Another reason might be that the IOS that you are trying to restore to or update is an old IOS which apple has currently stopped signing. So try the latest ios, it should work J
